As many of you know, sports are being cut from high school budgets across the country. While New Jersey is not a hotbed of Ice Hockey activity, there are a large number of kids that play on local private leagues. Getting high school teams going has been a goal of many folks for years but the budget just hasn’t been there. So, some ambitious people formed the Regional Ice Hockey Association (RHIA), a non-profit organization designed to bring ice hockey into the local schools. Earlier this year , the RIHA approached the Regional Board of Education and said.. “If we fund the hockey teams, will you let us form an official hockey team at each local high school?”. The board said “Yes!”. In order to fund the teams, the RIHA reached out to businesses in the area for sponsorship. TV Armor is proud to help sponsor this worthwhile cause.
We not only sell TV Screen protectors via this website, but we also have an Ebay store for customers who like to use Ebay. TV Armor has been selling on Ebay now for several months. We have sold a ton of tv screen protectors to our Ebay customers and they have given us a lot of great feedback!

If you cant tell from the headline.. we are VERY excited to announce that after months of planning, an insane amount of money (for a small company), and lots of deadlines.. TV Armor is going to be attending the 2009 International Consumer Electronics Show as an exhibitor from January 8th to 11th. We will be located in the Sands exhibit hall, Las Vegas, Nevada in Innovations Pod #202. The Innovations area is designated for companies with inventive and innovative products being introduced to the world wide market during 2008. We plan on having several screen protectors on display and we might even setup one for people to throw things at.
Our goal at this trade show, which is the largest consumer electronics show of the year, is to meet as many buyers and prospective distributors of TV Armor as possible. Ideally we want to get TV Armor into retail stores in 2009. Many of our customers have asked us why these aren’t avaliable in stores? Well hopefully that is going to change within the coming months. Stay tuned for more updates…
After a ton of work, about a million different design variations, and a lot of late nights.. what you see is TV Armor’s new website. I hope you enjoy the streamlined interface, tons of new content, more product details then you can shake a stick at, and the detailed information about the TV Armor staff. We are quite proud of what we have built with TV Armor. The business has gone from zero to 60 in a very short period of time and it is accellerating each and every day. Over the coming months we hope to introduce TV Armor to the world markets and get the product into retail stores.
Running an Internet business is a fun but tough job. Behind the scenes at TV Armor there are many opportunities for streamlining the business. This will allow us to spend more time talking to our customers and less time with shipping documents, box pickups, manually calculating sales rates, etc. Well that is all changing. Right now, behind the scenes, a team of well trained computer programmers (me, myself, and I) are hard at work creating a comprehensive backend automation system for TV Armor.
What does this mean for you? Not much at all.. the vast majority of the improvements will be behind the scenes. But, as TV Armor continues to grow, we will have the time to keep our focus on where it counts, our customers, instead of being inundated with paperwork:)
About a month ago I sent an email off to a a website called TV Snob. They are a very well know website that specializes in talking about everything related to TVs’. I told them about TV Armor and they we impressed. They wrote an article about TV Armor and we talked about mailing them a review unit so they could do a hands on review. Well that hands on review article came out the other day and TV Snob gave us a big thumbs up! Obviously I am very happy with the article. I know we produce a high quality product, but its great to hear an independent third party say the same thing:)

I can’t count the number of phone calls I have received from parents talking about how their child or a friends child broke broke their LCD or Plasma TV. One mother called us yesterday saying that her son hit their two month old 52″ Sony Bravia with a curling iron. “He didn’t even hit it hard” she said. Unfortunatly this is an all to common story. Thankfully they have the means to replace the TV with the same model and pick up a second TV screen protector for the childs grandmother’s TV.
Most consumers just aren’t aware how fragile these TVs are today. I never thought a toy would have broken our TV, but it happened. While something good came out of it (creating TV Armor), it still was an $1800 dollar lesson I would have rather not learned.
If you take your finger and press gently on your LCD monitor, you will see how the colors distort under your finger. Now don’t do this… but if you press just a little harder, you have a good chance of cracking your monitor. LCD TVs are just as fragile if not more. As a consumer it is very frustrating to buy a product for thousands of dollars and have it break so easily.

One of the biggest headaches with making and selling TV Armor – TV Screen Protectors is shipping them out to you, the consumer. TV Screen Protectors are big and require a big box. Fedex, DHL, and UPS all charge exhorbanent rates to ship large boxes. We use Fedex as our shipping company of choice as they have an excellent track record (zero damaged so far) and the best prices on shipping large boxes, which we pass directly onto you.
Everytime you place an order, our website talks to the Fedex computers and detemines what it will cost to ship from our location in NJ to your location, and that what we charge you for shipping. We don’t do flat rate shipping, because customers who are close shouldn’t have to pay the same shipping costs as those across the country. Companys who do this are basically making money on shipping.
I’ve seen shipping charges as low as $11 (to North NJ) and high as $122 (to Hawaii) but most average in the $20-$40 range, maybe $50 for our largest TV Screen Protector size to CA. To reduce these shipping charges even further, TV Armor goes out of its way to have custom boxes made to ship our TV Screen Protectors in. This keeps the box size and weight down and reduces your shipping charges.
Boxes is actually what prompted this post. We are getting a large shipment of custom boxes in this week (10 pallets worth):) Woooho!
